WHO
From 1997 to 2026 arts work in Uganda, and between Uganda and Scotland, has been made and supported by community workers Ekapu John Robert and Gailey Turyahebwa, and head teacher Charles Mukiibi in Uganda, in partnership with social worker and arts activist Ewan McVicar in Scotland.

HOW AND WHERE
* Direct action that utilises aspects of the arts to make creative links and develop skills and knowledge
* Visual and performance arts, creative and social comment writing, publishing on paper and in dedicated websites
* Work within schools, local and international school to school links and work exchanges, large-scale exchanges of artworks and shared topic projects, performance group projects including a marching band and a traditional Ugandan arts group, support for craftwork and farming needs for women’s group Echatutu, other craft works a recycling scrap project, participation in CHOGM 2007 and in the David Livingstone bicentenary events of 2013/4, and more
* Social groupings worked with include street kids, refugee and at risk children, the Echatutu vulnerable women’s group, and skills and knowledge development for teachers
* a recent emphasis has developed on translation of children’s traditional rhymes between languages, both between Ugandan tongues and into Scottish dialects
